Aussie Broadband to open a new office in WA

Media Release | Friday 16 Apr 2021 | 1 min read

Aussie Broadband Perth Office

Aussie Broadband has announced it will open a new call centre and business office in central Perth.

The new office is expected to bring 160 new jobs to the area, including customer support roles, management, HR and warehouse positions.

Managing Director Phillip Britt said the company was ramping up to start operations in July.

“We’re very excited to be opening an office in Perth, where we’ve always had strong support from customers,” Phil said.

“Perth has a wealth of tech talent and we’ve got a number of positions that we’re looking to fill. For Aussie, this is a great culture fit because Perth people are laid back, friendly and enjoy a good belly laugh.”

Phil also said that a Perth location allows the company greater flexibility to provide customer service across Australia’s varying time zones, whilst still keeping jobs in the country.

The new centre will include a warehouse facility to dispatch locally, which means Western Australia customers will receive hardware such as VoIP adapters, modems, and routers much more quickly.

Perth will become the company’s third call centre, joining two others in Melbourne. It is a symbol of the speed of growth the company is experiencing.

“It’s hard to believe that just over 18 months ago we opened an office in Lynbrook, in the outer South East of Melbourne. Since then, we’ve more than doubled our team – we now employ over 540 staff,” Phil said.

“We’re looking forward to growing our team even further in Perth and expanding the Aussie Broadband family.

“If you’ve got a passion for customer service and would like to help us change the telco game, keep an eye out for job opportunities over the next few weeks,” Phil said.

Fibre build

Aussie Broadband also currently rolling out its own privately-owned dark fibre network in WA, including in Perth’s CBD.

“So far, around 8kms of 360 core network fibre cable has been installed by our delivery partners Dean Industries and Lightsource Services, which will link Perth CBD at NextDC P2 to NextDC P1 in Malaga,” Phil said.

The fibre network can offer speeds of up to 10Gbps for business customers, and speeds in excess of 100Gbps for specialist applications.

In WA, Aussie Broadband already has a strong and loyal customer base, with over 44,000 residential customers and over 2,700 business customers.

All information contained in this media release, including references to costs, speed, and capability of the Aussie Broadband network, was correct at time of publication, and may have since changed.
