Configuring your router for IPv6

NetComm Modems & Routers

Changing NetComm settings to Dynamic IPv6 route:

  1. Login via 192.168.20.1.

  2. Input your router username (default is 'admin') and router password (check the back of your router).

  3. Once you're logged in, select Internet.

  4. Next, set the Connection Type as follows:

    • Choose VDSL if you have a FTTN connection.

    • Choose ETH WAN for all other connection types.

  5. Then, click More Options and go to IP Protocol.

  6. Click on the option for IPv4/IPv6.

  7. Enable DHCPv6 (IANA) and DHCPv6 (IAPD).

  8. Select Update to finalise your changes.

NETGEAR Modems & Routers

Changing NETGEAR settings to Dynamic IPv6 route:

  1. Log in to your gateway using the details on the back of the device.

  2. Navigate to Advanced, then Advanced Setup, then IPv6.

  3. Change the setting for DHCP to use the same server found under Internet Connection Type.

  4. Reboot the modem/router and the IPv6 settings should automatically propagate once connection is established.

ASUS Modems & Routers

  1. Log in to your gateway using the details on the back of the device.

  2. Click on IPv6 from the menu on the left.

  3. Set the Connection type to Native.

  4. Additional settings should appear below. Choose the following options:

    1. DHCP-PD: Enabled

    2. Auto Configuration Setting: Stateless

    3. Connect to DNS Server Automatically: Enabled

    4. Enable Router Advertisement: Enable

  5. Click Apply to save your changes.

  6. Reboot the modem/router and the IPv6 settings should automatically propagate once connection is established.
